First night out

Tonight was my first real night out and I saw a variety of objects. Despite being December, it is extremely clear here. (Please note that I did not take these pictures.)

I ordered some accessories today for the new telescope:
5 and 15mm eyepieces

Telrad Finder

Camera Adapter

6 inch Bushnell Dobsonian!

I got a 6 inch Bushnell Dobsonian! I like it so far, been able to see Jupiter and the moon as well as a few messier. It came with 10 and 25mm eyepieces and a 2 inch adapter.

Awaiting New Scopes!

I am awaiting two new scopes, a 6 inch Dobsonian, and a Celestron 5 inch 127eq. I'm expecting to get them in the next few weeks, I will keep you posted!

Pictures from the Lunar Eclipse!

I woke up around 4:00 this morning to see the Lunar Eclipse. While waiting, I saw Saturn and Mars, and also took a picture of the moon every ten minutes.  Unfortunately, the moon went down quickly and I only managed to snap a few shots. All pictures were taken with a Sony A300K. Here they are! Click to enlarge.

Lunar Eclipse December 10th!

There will be a Lunar Eclipse on Saturday, December 10, early in the morning. I'm hoping to catch a glimpse and take a few pictures.

Welcome to my Blog!

This is a start of a lifetime adventure! I got interested in astronomy by simply looking up at the moon! I did a bit of research and observed Jupiter and it's moons with binoculars. I also got interested in telescopes, so I decided to learn more about them.

I am anxiously awaiting 2 telescopes, a 6 inch Dobsonian, and a 5 inch Celestron 127eq.

I will be posting images, articles, and more about astronomy. I hope you enjoy this just as much as I do!
